About Andiann' a premer latte
Sung by two sopranos and a bass, Andiann' a premer latte is a delightful secular madrigal by Antonio Cifra. The Italian text describes a pastoral scene where Tirsi invites Licori to gather flowers, but his true desire is for the milk from her breast, which he likens to roses from her lips. Cifra’s setting captures the playful and amorous dialogue with vibrant musicality, making it a charming choice for a chamber choir looking for Renaissance part-music with a touch of rustic charm and gentle wit.
