And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud:
and a rainbow was upon his head,
and his face was as it were the sun,
and his feet as pillars of fire:
And he had in his hand a little book open:
and he set his right foot upon the sea,

About And I Saw an Angel
Roger Teichmann sets a passage from the Book of Revelation for double SATB choir. The text describes a powerful angelic vision, beginning with the angel clothed in a cloud, with a rainbow on his head and a face like the sun. His feet are like pillars of fire as he sets one upon the sea and the other on the earth. He cries out with a loud voice, to which seven thunders respond. The narrator is then instructed not to write down what the thunders said, but to seal up the vision. This dramatic biblical scene is brought to life through the rich textures of the double choir setting, creating a grand and awe-inspiring effect.
