An Old Cradle Song

This gentle SATB setting of An Old Cradle Song opens with a tender, lullaby-like quality, the voices blending seamlessly to create a warm embrace. The familiar English nursery rhyme lyrics are set with exquisite care, evoking the peaceful scene of a sleeping baby watched over by a mother and the natural world. The music swells and recedes, mirroring the gentle rocking of a cradle. The composer’s sensitive treatment of the text captures the innocence and tenderness of childhood, making this a touching and evocative piece for any choir looking to explore the simpler, more intimate side of choral music.
