About Amour, amour
Clément Janequin's Amour, amour is a secular French chanson for three voices (STB). The text speaks of love's cruelty, yet acknowledges its natural power. The composer skilfully crafts the music to reflect these sentiments, with smooth melodic lines and a flowing harmonic language typical of the Renaissance chanson. This piece offers a charming exploration of a timeless theme, suitable for smaller vocal ensembles seeking to perform engaging Franco-Flemish repertoire.
