About Amorosetto neo
Pomponio Nenna was a composer of the late Renaissance and early Baroque periods. Amorosetto neo is a secular madrigal for SSATB voices, sung in Italian. The text describes a sweet young Cupid who reveals himself among the pearls and corals of the singer's beloved. The lyrics ask with what new art Love placed him there, calling him a dear thief of the heart, and conclude that even the brightest dawn in the east must yield to Cupid's dark adornment.
