Amen dico vobis quod uni

Nobuaki Izawa's motet Amen dico vobis draws its text from the Gospels. The Latin words speak of divine rewards for acts of kindness, inviting the blessed to inherit a kingdom prepared from the beginning of the world. The composer sets this passage for SATB choir, weaving the voices together to create a rich and resonant sound world. The music aims to convey a sense of solemnity and affirmation, reflecting the profound message of the scripture. This sacred work would be a powerful addition to a choir's repertoire, offering a moving reflection on Christian teachings.
