Always by your Side

This secular SATB setting of an English text offers a heartfelt message of unwavering support. Charles West’s composition provides a tender response to feelings of sorrow and emptiness. The text speaks directly to someone experiencing deep emotional pain, offering solace and a promise of constant presence. The music would suit a concert programme, perhaps as a reflective moment within a larger set of part-songs. The composer guides the listener through stages of comfort: reaching out a hand, offering shelter in open arms, and finally, sharing unconditional love. This piece is an excellent choice for choirs seeking expressive, accessible madrigal-style repertoire that conveys a powerful emotional narrative.
