About Also heilig ist der Tag

Also heilig ist der Tag celebrates the holiness of the day when Christ overcame death and bound the devil. The text poetically describes how no praise can fully capture this event, attributing the redemption of Christendom to Christ himself. The composer Sethus Calvisius sets this German hymn text for STTB voices. It is a sacred work, fitting for liturgical settings or concert programmes seeking profound theological expression through four-part harmony.
