Alma mirad vuestro Dios by Francisco Guerrero — Lyrics
Alma mirad vuestro Dios,
que aunque está tan encubierto,

About Alma mirad vuestro Dios
Alma mirad vuestro Dios invites the soul to look upon God, even though he is hidden. The text emphasizes that faith allows us to perceive him clearly, even when understanding fails. It speaks of God's immense grace and love, which are offered to any sinner, and suggests that he is given to us to eat in a hidden form, a profound mystery that can be grasped through faith. This sacred villancico for AATBB voices by Francisco Guerrero beautifully captures this devotional sentiment in Spanish, making it a moving piece for a choir seeking to express deep spiritual contemplation.
