Al heeft hij ons verlaten

Though he has left us, he never leaves us alone, his presence ever about us like sunlight on flowers or a mother's love. We live in the trust that we shall see his majesty face to face in all eternity. This hymn, for SATB choir, is a testament to enduring faith and hope. The Dutch text assures the listener that even in absence, divine love and the promise of return provide solace and unwavering support. The composer Willem Jan Hanegraaf has set this text with a depth that resonates with its profound message of spiritual connection and ultimate reunion.
