Dāvida nama vārdu kas nesi!
Tulielā godā starp svētiem tēviem:
Dievs to nav devis pat lieliem svētiem.
2. Eņģeļi svētie pie tevis gāja,
kad Dieva gribu tev sludināja.
Pazemīgs Dievu tu uzklausīji,
visu, kā prasīts, tu izpildīji.
3. Tad daudzus gadus: brīnums patiesi!

About Ak, svētais Jāzep
This anthem, by an anonymous composer, is set in Latvian for SATB choir. The text is a prayer to Saint Joseph, invoking him as a descendant of David and a noble figure among saints. It recounts the Annunciation to Joseph, his humble acceptance of God's will, and the time Jesus lived in his household. The lyrics praise Joseph's role as protector of the infant Jesus and ask for his intercession in times of hardship and when confessing sins.
