About Ahi, chi m'aita
Domenico Mazzocchi was an Italian composer of the early Baroque. His secular madrigal Ahi, chi m'aita is written for SSATB voices. The text expresses a deep lament, with the singer crying out for help in mourning their fate, facing opposition from Love, Fortune, and Death. The words convey a sense of despair, with hope lost and no mercy found, evoking the suffering of hell itself.
