About Adorate Deum
Heinrich Isaac was a prominent composer of the late Renaissance, known for his sacred and secular vocal music. His motet Adorate Deum is a powerful setting of Latin biblical text, drawing from scripture to create a jubilant expression of praise. The text speaks of angels adoring God, and of Zion and the daughters of Judah rejoicing. It proclaims that the Lord has reigned, and calls for the earth to exult and the islands to be glad.
