About Adiuvet nos gratia
This sacred motet is for double choir (SATB.SATB) singing in Latin. The text is a prayer for divine assistance in faithfully serving God, particularly for those undertaking the priestly office. It asks for grace to live with purity and good conscience, and for the ability to weep for past wrongs and serve God with renewed fervour. The prayer expresses a humble desire to adhere to God with a spirit of humility and good will. Michael Kraf's setting likely offers opportunities for dynamic contrast and spatial effects inherent in its double choir scoring, making it a powerful addition to a sacred choral programme.
