Accordez moy

The words of this chansonn, Accordez-moi, express the singer's steadfast love and deep desire for his beloved. He declares that wherever he is, her love chooses his heart, and he takes pleasure in no one else. The text insists that true love is not easily forgotten. Josquin Baston sets this tender sentiment for a rich five-part choir of soprano, tenor, tenor, baritone, and bass. This is a secular work from the Renaissance, showcasing the composer's skill in setting French poetry with expressive vocal writing.
