Abschied vom Wald by Friedrich Silcher — Lyrics
So scheiden wir mit Sang und Klang:

About Abschied vom Wald
Friedrich Silcher's Abschied vom Wald captures a poignant farewell to the forest. The German text expresses a heartfelt goodbye to the woods, celebrating its cool shade and green meadows as a cherished retreat. As the singers depart, they promise to sing a song of gratitude on their way home, inviting the forest to welcome them back amidst the scent of leaves and songs during the beautiful springtime. The music mirrors this gentle parting, with the closing lines of the text suggesting the forest itself bids them farewell with rustling leaves. This SSA setting brings the scene to life with delicate vocal harmonies.
