About ABC - Proměnění Páně
Karel Bříza's Proměnění Páně is a responsory for two voices, Soprano and Tenor. Sung in Czech, this sacred work draws its text from Psalm 97. The lyrics proclaim God's sovereign rule over all the earth, describing his majestic presence and the rejoicing of the lands. It speaks of justice and righteousness as the foundation of his throne, and contrasts the melting of mountains before him with the proclamation of his righteousness by the heavens. The text concludes with a powerful affirmation of God's supreme elevation above all other deities, culminating in the refrain 'Hospodin kraluje' (The Lord reigns).
