About 2 Antiphone, WoO 71
These two antiphons by Josef Rheinberger for SATB choir are settings of sacred Latin texts. The first, Gloriosa dicta sunt de te, Maria, celebrates the Virgin Mary with words declaring that great things have been done for her by the Almighty. The second, Gaudens gaudebo in Domino, expresses profound joy in the Lord, with the soul exalting in God for the raiment of salvation and the garment of righteousness. The text concludes with the familiar doxology, Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto, followed by the trinitarian formula in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
