Remi Studer's setting of Psalm 44 is a responsorial piece for SATB choir, written in French for liturgical use. The text, drawn from Psalm 44, vividly depicts a royal bride being prepared and presented to the king, evoking themes of beauty, glory, and devotion. The latter part of the text, however, shifts to an Alleluia focusing on the Assumption of Mary, celebrating her entry into God's glory and the joyous acclamation of the angels. This creates a rich juxtaposition of Old Testament imagery and New Testament celebration, offering a profound musical meditation on divine presence and heavenly exaltation.
